The Opportunity:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support students during staff absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive school climate. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive and collaborative environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons to students when their usual teacher is unavailable.
- Support students in small group settings or during independent study when cover is light.
- Work closely with the lead cover supervisor to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school's values.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and senior staff.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Adapt to changing priorities and support the school during periods of staff absence.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in teaching or delivering lessons to students.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, particularly in a cover or temporary role.
- Familiarity with the school’s SPIRIT ethos (Strive, Perseverance, Independence, Respect, Integrity, Tolerance).
- Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple school sites.
- Experience with curriculum planning or support for students with diverse learning needs.
