The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and expanding department. This role offers the chance to shape a high-quality curriculum and inspire students through practical, hands-on learning. Ideal for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers, this position provides a supportive environment for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons to KS4 students.
  • Develop a curriculum that fosters practical skills, food science knowledge, and nutritional awareness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the Art and Design department.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and creative learning environment with a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Support the development of extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs and enrichment programs.
  • Participate in whole-school initiatives and contribute to curriculum planning and leadership opportunities.
  • Mentor and support other teachers within the department.
  • Ensure the use of specialist equipment and resources in line with best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Food Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in delivering practical lessons and managing a classroom effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with Early Career Teacher development.
  • Background in curriculum planning and leadership.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or enrichment programs.
