The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a successful and expanding department. The role involves teaching KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5 in the future. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, innovation, and a commitment to inspiring students and contributing to the growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Food Technology to students at KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and practical learning experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the continued success and development of the department.
  • Support students in developing skills, independence, and a passion for food education.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the curriculum, including the expansion into KS5.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events related to Food Technology.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school’s wider educational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Food Technology.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality teaching and student engagement.
  • Experience in delivering Food and Nutrition at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to departmental success.
  • Passion for food education and its impact on student wellbeing and future opportunities.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching KS5 Food Technology.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
  • Experience with supporting student independence and practical skills development.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard food preparation techniques and equipment.
