Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-planned, engaging, and differentiated Science lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and high achievement.
  • Support students as a form tutor, building positive relationships and fostering a strong school community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the school’s ethos of Enjoy, Respect, Achieve in all aspects of teaching and student interaction.
  • Prepare and implement effective schemes of work and assessments aligned with curriculum standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality Science lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations of student behaviour and achievement.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of Enjoy, Respect, Achieve.
  • Experience in form tutoring and pastoral support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience with assessment and data tracking tools.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular Science activities.
  • Experience with outdoor education or co-curricular programmes.
