The Opportunity:
A Science Technician - Biology and Physics is needed to support the science department in a high-performing all girls’ school. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on student learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage resources for Biology and Physics lessons, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and meet educational standards
- Support the practical and technical aspects of the science curriculum across all key stages
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with safety policies
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance the delivery of science education
- Participate in extra-curricular science activities and events
- Maintain and organize science equipment and laboratory spaces
- Provide technical support during science lessons and experiments
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of science department practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a science technician role, preferably within a school setting
- Strong knowledge of Biology and KS3 Physics
- Understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience with National professional qualifications in education
- Previous involvement in extra-curricular science activities
- Experience working in an all-girls’ school or similar educational setting
- Familiarity with modern science equipment and laboratory management systems
