The Opportunity:
As a Swimming Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and safe swimming instruction to students. This is an opportunity to support students’ physical development and foster confidence in the water, while working in a school that values both musical and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and monitor the swimming programme to meet the needs of students of all ages and abilities.
- Prepare and deliver schemes of work tailored to the age, abilities, and interests of students.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to any emergencies, including initiating rescues from the deepest part of the pool.
- Administer first aid and raise alarms in the event of an accident or incident.
- Prevent unsafe activities and maintain a secure environment for all pool users.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Swim England/ASA Level 2 or STA Level 2 Certificate).
- Recognised Lifeguard/Rescue Qualification (e.g., RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches - NRASTC or NPLQ).
- Enhanced DBS Check and registration for the update service.
Preferred
- First Aid certification.
- Experience teaching children with disabilities or teaching non-swimmers/advanced swimmers.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £15,000 per annum (£30,000 per annum FTE).
