The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French and Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic Modern Foreign Languages Department. The ideal candidate will inspire pupils from Years 3 to 8 to develop a love for language learning, while contributing to a collaborative and supportive teaching environment that values high standards and cultural enrichment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that foster confidence and curiosity in French and Spanish.
  • Support pupils’ academic and personal development through differentiated teaching and assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of language teaching and learning across the school.
  • Encourage cultural awareness and appreciation through immersive and interactive learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s language curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote language learning and cultural exchange.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment for all pupils.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching French and Spanish at primary or secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in both French and Spanish.
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage pupils of all abilities.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, curriculum-focused lessons.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across a range of year groups.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience in pastoral care and supporting pupil well-being.
  • Knowledge of cultural aspects of French and Spanish-speaking countries.
