A school dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for neurodivergent students aged 7–19 with a primary diagnosis of Autism. It is part of a larger educational network and is recognized for its innovative and flexible approach to teaching.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development. This role will focus on teaching History, Geography, and Religious Education across multiple key stages, with opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Humanities lessons across History, Geography, and Religious Education
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet a wide range of neurodivergent learning needs
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Contribute to curriculum development and cross-curricular opportunities
  • Stay up to date with changes in the curriculum and implement these effectively
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers to strengthen curriculum links
  • Manage and direct teaching assistants
  • Review and rewrite aspects of the curriculum as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across History, Geography, and/or Religious Education
  • Be confident teaching across a range of key stages, particularly KS3
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Show a commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Be able to build positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively

Preferred

  • Experience teaching GCSE Humanities subjects
  • Experience working with neurodivergent young people or within a SEND setting
  • Knowledge of Autism-friendly or trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience teaching or supporting KS2 learners
  • Willingness to contribute to wider school life
