The Opportunity:

We are seeking a French Language Assistant (Part-Time) to support students in developing their oral fluency and confidence in conversational French. This role offers the chance to work collaboratively with teachers and contribute to a dynamic, forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually and in small groups to improve their spoken French.
  • Create and deliver tailored learning materials to enhance fluency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers and department colleagues to align teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly.
  • Encourage enthusiasm for the French language among students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions.
  • Provide feedback to students and teachers to support continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in language teaching and share insights with the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Native or near-native proficiency in French.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching or assisting with language instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching French to students aged 11–18.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Experience with online or blended learning methods.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends in language teaching.
