Summary:

Medical Assistant needed for term-time only role at a school in Cambridge.

The Opportunity:

As a Medical Assistant, you will support the school’s medical centre by providing administrative, clinical, and cleaning assistance. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students during term time only. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team committed to student well-being and excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the medical centre by assisting with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication with staff and students.
  • Provide clinical support under the supervision of the Lead Nurse, including first aid and health monitoring.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the medical centre and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with the management of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Support students and staff with health-related queries and concerns.
  • Attend to students during medical appointments and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure the well-being and safety of students.
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or educational setting (training will be provided).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Flexibility to work during term time only (33 weeks per year).

Preferred

  • Experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of first aid and basic clinical procedures.
  • Experience with medical software or record-keeping systems.
  • Experience in a school or healthcare environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £13.63 per hour.
  • 37.5 hours per week during term time only.
  • Fixed term contract for 12 months.
