Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective French lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to develop and implement departmental strategies.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated teaching and targeted interventions.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the French curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in French education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching French at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and a commitment to delivering an ambitious curriculum.
  • Experience in working within a school team and contributing to departmental leadership.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Knowledge of teaching French as a second language.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and a track record of successful student outcomes.
