The Opportunity:

We are seeking a part-time Gardener to maintain the school's extensive gardens, lawns, and sporting facilities. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, flexible, and committed to creating a visually appealing environment that supports the school's mission and enhances the experience of students and staff throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the school's gardens, flower beds, lawns, trees, and hedges.
  • Carry out basic grounds maintenance, including setting out sports equipment and maintaining sports pitches.
  • Work flexibly across the main school site and the sports ground, West Grove.
  • Prioritize tasks in line with the school's needs and under the guidance of the Grounds Manager and Operations Director.
  • Adapt to seasonal changes and ensure the grounds remain in excellent condition throughout the year.
  • Support the school's commitment to creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for students and staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in gardening or grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and adapt to seasonal changes.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of appearance and care.
  • Willingness to carry out a range of tasks, including basic sports pitch maintenance.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and seasonal planting.
  • Experience with sports pitch maintenance or grounds management.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pro-rated salary of £18,780 - £19,380 per year.
