The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE English Tutor (AQA) to work in the West Molesey area. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in teaching and a commitment to supporting students with SEN. You will play a vital role in helping students achieve their academic goals through tailored, high-quality tuition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective GCSE English tuition using the AQA specification
• Support students with special educational needs through personalized teaching methods
• Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and development
• Follow the Bright Heart Approach to ensure a nurturing and supportive learning environment
• Attend ongoing training and development sessions to enhance teaching practice
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes
• Collaborate with education consultants and other tutors to ensure consistent delivery of quality tuition
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English (AQA)
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
• A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
• Passion for teaching and working with students with special educational needs (SEN)

Preferred

• Experience working with students with SEN
• Previous experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
• Experience with online tutoring platforms or in-person tuition in the West Molesey area
• Familiarity with National Tutoring Programme (NTP) standards
