The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated GCSE Maths Tutor to provide one-on-one support to students in the High Wycombe area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about maths education and working with students who require additional support. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualised GCSE Maths tuition to students with special educational needs.
• Develop and implement tailored learning plans to support student progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and the school to provide updates on student performance.
• Use the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and motivation in students.
• Attend training sessions and follow safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of students.
• Provide ongoing support and encouragement to help students reach their full potential.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
• Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
• A university qualification or studying towards one, along with A-levels.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).

Preferred

• Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods.
• Previous experience in SEN tutoring or teaching.
• Flexibility to work in-person or online, and willingness to travel within the High Wycombe area.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
