Maths Tutor KS2+ required in Wandsworth with QTS and SEN experience.

The Opportunity:

A Maths Tutor KS2+ is needed to provide engaging, discovery-based learning that extends beyond key stage 2. The role is ideal for an experienced tutor with QTS who is passionate about supporting students with SEN and delivering high-quality, individualised tuition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad, interest-led, discovery-based learning programme tailored to individual student needs
  • Work with students with special educational needs (SEN) and those requiring additional support
  • Provide structured and engaging Maths tuition to students from KS2+
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, confidence, and self-belief
  • Prepare and deliver individual learning plans (ILPs) that address both academic and SEMH needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to ensure student progress
  • Attend training and safeguarding sessions to maintain high standards of care and support
  • Support students in developing lifelong skills, including study techniques and transition planning

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, with A-levels
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
  • Two relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring
  • Experience with teaching students from Reception to A-level
  • Experience with creating and delivering individual learning plans (ILPs)
  • Experience with study skills and transition support for students with SEMH needs
