The Opportunity:
As a GCSE teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by teaching small groups of up to six students. This role allows you to focus on individual needs, support emotional well-being, and help students achieve high GCSE results in a flexible and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of GCSE subjects to small groups of students, ensuring high academic standards and personal development.
- Support students' social, emotional, and mental health needs in line with the school's ethos and 4 As resilience programme.
- Deliver engaging lessons that encourage self-confidence, autonomy, and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a tailored and inclusive learning experience.
- Participate in the Duke of Edinburgh and outdoor activity programme to support student development beyond the classroom.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
- Work flexibly across multiple sites, including the Post 16 provision 6Oaks.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in GCSE teaching.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to support students with complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching students with autism, speech and language difficulties, or dyslexia.
- Familiarity with alternative provision settings and trauma-informed approaches.
- Experience with the Duke of Edinburgh or outdoor education programmes.
- Ability to contribute to the development of new curriculum initiatives.
