The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified General Science Teacher to join its successful Science Faculty on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract. This role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, contribute to curriculum development, and support student progress in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the science curriculum.
  • Support pupils in their academic and personal development.
  • Participate actively in the life of the school, including enrichment activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant science-based degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching General Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Specialist knowledge in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with early career teacher support or induction programmes.
