The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography and History lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a curriculum that reflects the diverse and vibrant community.
  • Support the continued improvement of student progress and attainment in Geography and History.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to refine and improve teaching practice.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
  • Engage with students and parents to support learning and development both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography, History, or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Geography and History at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational technologies and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar large-scale educational organisation.
