The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a Geography and History Teacher to join a growing and ambitious Humanities team. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic curriculum and make a lasting impact on student learning and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Geography and History lessons that engage and inspire students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a curriculum that reflects the diverse and vibrant community.
- Support the continued improvement of student progress and attainment in Geography and History.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to refine and improve teaching practice.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
- Engage with students and parents to support learning and development both inside and outside the classroom.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography, History, or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching Geography and History at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, challenging lessons.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or working with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with the latest educational technologies and teaching methodologies.
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar large-scale educational organisation.
