The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a successful and growing department. This role offers the chance to inspire and challenge students, with a focus on delivering high-quality science education up to A level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Biology lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the curriculum and promote student progress.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the science department.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and enrichment activities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attainment.
  • Engage in whole-school initiatives and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Science, preferably Biology.
  • Experience of teaching in a comprehensive school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Biology up to A level.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with science education research and best practices.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
