The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and curiosity.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students through tailored interventions and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Geography department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and school events that promote Geography and related subjects.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Geography at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusive education practices.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
  • Familiarity with research-informed teaching strategies.
  • Experience in delivering extracurricular Geography-related activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-academy trust.
