Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons that engage and challenge students at KS4.
  • Support students with a range of academic, behavioural, and special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Learning Area Team to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ensure that students achieve excellent outcomes in GCSE examinations.
  • Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Promote the school’s values of Focus, Integrity, Respect, Self-Determination, and Teamwork.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Represent the school in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience of teaching Sociology at KS4.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve high academic standards.
  • Experience of working with students with a range of SEN, behavioural, and academic needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of representing the school in external events or partnerships.
  • Previous involvement in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Experience with international education or cross-cultural learning.
