Summary:

Humanities Teacher role with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in SEN education.

The Opportunity:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons in subjects such as History and Geography, helping students develop academic and life skills. You will make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured humanities lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN and additional barriers to learning
  • Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils to achieve their best
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
  • Encourage curiosity, discussion and critical thinking in humanities subjects
  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils
  • Support students’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Contribute positively to the ethos and wider life of the school
  • Support enrichment opportunities and student development initiatives
  • Promote the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all pupils

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in a Humanities-related subject
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience or interest in working with SEN students, alternative provision or post-16 learners

Preferred

  • Experience working in special education or alternative provision settings
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues
