The Opportunity:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons in subjects such as History and Geography, helping students develop academic and life skills. You will make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse needs in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured humanities lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN and additional barriers to learning
- Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils to achieve their best
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
- Encourage curiosity, discussion and critical thinking in humanities subjects
- Build strong and positive relationships with pupils
- Support students’ academic, social and emotional development
- Contribute positively to the ethos and wider life of the school
- Support enrichment opportunities and student development initiatives
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all pupils
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in a Humanities-related subject
- Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience or interest in working with SEN students, alternative provision or post-16 learners
Preferred
- Experience working in special education or alternative provision settings
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues
- Willingness to go above and beyond for students
