The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business and Economics to lead a growing department and inspire students to achieve their full potential. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Business and Economics education at a school known for its strong academic results and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the continued growth of the department
- Deliver and oversee the teaching of Economics A-Level and BTEC Business Level 3 Extended Diploma
- Support and mentor junior staff within the department
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links
- Promote and develop student engagement in Business and Economics through extra-curricular activities
- Ensure compliance with school policies and external regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Business and Economics
- Proven leadership experience within a school department
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
- Experience in developing and managing a successful department
- Commitment to student achievement and inclusion
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department during a maternity cover period
- Familiarity with the Inner London Scale and TLR 2a
- Experience with A-Level and BTEC qualification delivery
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in using technology to enhance learning
