The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business and Economics to lead a growing department and inspire students to achieve their full potential. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Business and Economics education at a school known for its strong academic results and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the continued growth of the department
  • Deliver and oversee the teaching of Economics A-Level and BTEC Business Level 3 Extended Diploma
  • Support and mentor junior staff within the department
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links
  • Promote and develop student engagement in Business and Economics through extra-curricular activities
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and external regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Business and Economics
  • Proven leadership experience within a school department
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Experience in developing and managing a successful department
  • Commitment to student achievement and inclusion

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department during a maternity cover period
  • Familiarity with the Inner London Scale and TLR 2a
  • Experience with A-Level and BTEC qualification delivery
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in using technology to enhance learning
