Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Geography lessons that meet GCSE standards and promote student achievement.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the school’s leadership programme and character development initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting the values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition, and Respect.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities that enhance the Geography curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven ability to teach Geography to GCSE standard
  • Experience of delivering outstanding attainment and achievement in a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and engage students in learning

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a school with a leadership specialism
  • Experience of supporting student leadership and character development
  • Experience of working in a disadvantaged community
  • Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning
