The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Geography Teacher to join our high-performing Humanities faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT to contribute to a dynamic and inspiring department that values innovation and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Geography across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons using a range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the curriculum team to enhance departmental practice.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment with strong classroom behaviour management.
  • Support students through field trips and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Participate in the school’s extensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of promoting student achievement and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • A clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Understanding of successful classroom practice and evidence-based teaching.
  • Ability to implement a range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Suitability to work with children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with the AQA exam board.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to CPD sessions.
  • Experience with field trips and outdoor learning.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
