The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Visual Arts Teacher to inspire young learners aged 4–11. This role focuses on fostering creativity, artistic expression, and a deep appreciation for visual arts through an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver visually stimulating and developmentally aligned art lessons to students in elementary grades.
  • Support students in exploring diverse media, techniques, and artistic processes to develop their creative skills and confidence.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages reflection, communication, and appreciation of visual culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with the school’s curriculum, standards, and best practices in visual arts education.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning and artistic growth.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with research-supported teaching methods in visual arts.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to support student learning and well-being.
  • Contribute positively to the school culture through collaboration, care, and shared purpose.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching visual arts to elementary students.
  • Strong understanding of child development and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate or North American curriculum.
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in creating and managing visual arts programs.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance art instruction.
