The Opportunity:
As a Graduate Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children in class, during activities, and in the boarding life of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking experience working with children prior to teacher training, with the potential to progress to a two-year programme leading to a Graduate Teacher role and QTS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children in class, during activities, and in the boarding life of the school
- Assist with the delivery of lessons under the guidance of experienced staff
- Contribute to the co-curricular and sporting life of the school
- Develop strong relationships with students and staff
- Participate in the wider academic and pastoral life of the school
- Take responsibility for the well-being and development of students
- Collaborate with other members of the teaching and support staff
- Attend training and professional development sessions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant graduate qualification
- A genuine interest in working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or working with children
- An interest in Drama, Sport, or Creative Arts
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- An understanding of the importance of co-curricular and sporting activities in education
- A willingness to live on-site and participate in the boarding community
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £17,000 with accommodation and meals provided
- Alternative salary of £25,000 per annum for those living off-site
