The Opportunity:
As a KS2 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils in Years 3–6, helping them achieve academic and personal growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, inclusive setting and is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils in Years 3–6, both in class and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure pupils access learning confidently and independently.
- Support children in developing organisational skills, self-belief, and resilience.
- Celebrate progress, no matter how small, and foster a positive learning environment.
- Maintain calm and patience, even in challenging situations or when learning is difficult.
- Use creative and engaging methods to explain complex concepts and encourage learning.
- Stay flexible and adaptable, responding to the diverse needs of each child.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect and understanding.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally in Years 3–6.
- Understanding of SEND and differentiated learning strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
Preferred
- Experience with phonics and numeracy support.
- Familiarity with emotional and social development in children.
- Ability to use creative and practical methods to aid learning.
- Experience with assessment and progress tracking.
