The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspiring Art Teacher to join a collaborative and vibrant school community. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progression, and contributing to a broad range of extra-curricular activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about art and committed to fostering creativity in students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality art lessons that promote student engagement and understanding.
- Support the progression of students across Years 7 to 13, including preparation for public examinations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and develop schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Participate in and lead extra-curricular activities that enhance the school’s creative offering.
- Monitor student academic progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Act as a Form tutor, supporting student well-being and pastoral care.
- Develop positive relationships with students both in the classroom and in the Form Room.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in art education.
- Strong understanding of art curriculum and teaching methods.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of all ages.
- Commitment to pastoral care and student well-being.
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities.
Preferred
- Specialism in sculpture or ceramics.
- Experience in developing and delivering creative extra-curricular programs.
- Familiarity with the GDST ethos and values.
- Experience with teaching students across a wide age range.
