Summary:

Graduate Boarding Assistant role for term-time only, full-time residential position.

The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Boarding Assistant, you will support the Head of Boarding in managing a boarding house during their absence. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young people and contributing to a vibrant, inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the house in the absence of Houseparents
  • Plan and organise engaging activities and events for students
  • Coordinate food and equipment orders with the Catering Department
  • Maintain public rooms, dorms, and recreational areas in a tidy and presentable condition
  • Identify and report maintenance issues to Houseparents and Estates
  • Assist with recording house billing and expenses
  • Encourage student involvement in house maintenance and organisation
  • Support wider events and in-school weekend activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a residential or educational setting
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of young people

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a boarding or residential role
  • Knowledge of school operations and house management
  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and live in the boarding house
