The Opportunity:

As an HR Officer, you will provide a professional and confidential HR service to all staff, supporting the school’s mission and ensuring smooth HR operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high-quality HR support in a dynamic and forward-thinking educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll operations.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, including coordinating selection activities and supporting hiring panels.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Process DBS checks and manage all pre-employment checks in accordance with safeguarding policies.
  • Coordinate statutory returns, including workforce census and other required data submissions.
  • Issue contracts of employment and ensure compliance with all employment legislation.
  • Provide timely and effective support to staff in response to HR-related queries and concerns.
  • Use HR administrative systems effectively to manage HR processes and data.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience in providing generalist HR support, including on-boarding and record-keeping.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including preparing documentation and using HR systems.
  • Strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in maintaining high professional standards in a customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with statutory compliance and data submission processes.
  • Familiarity with educational sector HR practices and policies.
  • Experience with managing employee lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
