Graduate Sports Assistant required for a 10-month fixed-term contract at a forward-thinking school.

The Opportunity:

A Graduate Sports Assistant is needed to support the school’s sporting and co-curricular programme, with a specialism in netball. This role is ideal for those considering a future in teaching and offers a comprehensive induction and CPD programme, along with a competitive remuneration package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support professional sports coaches and PE/games staff across the curriculum.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of netball programmes at a high level.
  • Play an active role in pre-season training, summer camps, and Saturday fixtures.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture.
  • Participate in school trips and other events as required.
  • Contribute to boarding duties where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s child protection and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in any discipline.
  • Strong netball experience at a club level or above.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive approach to all games and activities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours, including early mornings and evenings.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Coaching experience, particularly in netball.
  • Experience in an educational or sporting environment.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills.
  • Willingness to consider a career in teaching.
