A Graduate Teaching Assistant is needed to support students with special educational needs and disabilities in mainstream and small group settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities during mainstream lessons and in small group interventions.
  • Deliver targeted interventions designed to improve student outcomes and engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress regularly, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current student or recent graduate in education or a related field.
  • Commitment to working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience or willingness to complete teacher training (ITT) programmes.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience with inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support strategies.
  • Familiarity with ITT programmes and teaching qualifications.
