The Opportunity:
As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs to thrive academically and socially. This is a key position within a school that values inclusion and is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) through tailored interventions and strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates to the senior leadership team.
- Assist in delivering targeted support sessions and group work to help students reach their full potential.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
- Collaborate with external agencies and parents to ensure consistent support for students.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of school-wide inclusion strategies and policies.
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing independent learning skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in education, social care, or a related field.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team environment.
- Commitment to the values and ethos of an inclusive school.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
- Experience with behaviour management and pastoral support.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and resources for students with additional needs.
