The Opportunity:

As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of a 110-acre estate, including sports pitches, gardens, and woodlands. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the school’s facilities remain in excellent condition for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage sports pitches, cricket squares, and all-weather playing surfaces.
• Carry out regular upkeep of formal gardens, woodlands, and general grounds.
• Ensure all areas of the estate are clean, safe, and in good repair.
• Work closely with the grounds team to meet seasonal and event-related maintenance needs.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with the preparation of outdoor spaces for school events and activities.
• Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience with the use of grounds maintenance equipment.
• Reliable, organized, and hardworking individual.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge of horticulture and landscaping practices.
• Understanding of sports pitch maintenance techniques.
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including during the summer months.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual salary of £26,808.

• Structured working hours (Monday-Friday, 7.30 am – 3.30 pm).
