The Opportunity:
As the Director of IT Services, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of IT systems across the school. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation that supports teaching, learning, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and shape the strategic direction of IT services across the school.
- Ensure the highest standards of performance, security, and availability of IT systems, including cloud services and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation in teaching and learning through technology.
- Manage and develop a skilled IT services team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee budget, supplier management, and system lifecycle planning.
- Act as the school lead for cyber compliance and external assurance, including Cyber Essentials.
- Provide responsive, solutions-focused IT support to staff, pupils, and parents.
- Build strong relationships across the school community to enhance service delivery and user satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven senior-level experience in IT leadership within a complex organisation.
- Deep expertise in infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and service management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach with a commitment to service excellence.
- Experience in managing IT teams and delivering strategic IT initiatives.
Preferred
- Experience in educational institutions or similar environments.
- Familiarity with digital transformation and innovation in education.
- Experience with Cyber Essentials and other compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong community relationships.
