The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Art and Design Technology to lead two high-performing departments. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of creative education, inspire students, and contribute to a vibrant co-curricular programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Art and Design Technology departments.
- Teach small classes across Year 3 to Year 8, including scholarship-level preparation.
- Lead and inspire a team of 3 full-time and 6 part-time staff and assistants.
- Contribute to the co-curricular programme and wider school life, including after-school and evening activities.
- Maintain and enhance high-quality facilities, including dedicated art and design technology spaces.
- Promote the departments’ strong record of success and student achievement.
- Support charitable initiatives through creative student projects and outreach.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology to scholarship (GCSE) level.
- Strong leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to teach across a range of year groups and levels.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the co-curricular programme and school community.
Preferred
- Experience in leading and developing departments within a school environment.
- Background in both primary and secondary education.
- Experience with charitable or community-based projects.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
