Key Responsibilities:

• Drive excellence in teaching and learning across Art and Photography
• Promote high standards of creativity, technical skill and visual literacy
• Foster confidence, originality and enjoyment in artistic practice
• Use assessment effectively to support progress and secure strong outcomes
• Support pupils to become reflective, independent and thoughtful artists
• Line manage and develop members of the Art and Photography team
• Contribute to whole-school academic and cultural development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in teaching Art and Photography at secondary level
• Strong leadership experience, ideally in a middle leadership role
• Deep understanding of curriculum design, assessment and pedagogy
• Commitment to inclusion and excellent outcomes for all pupils
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred

• Experience in leading a department or team
• Knowledge of using technology in Art and Photography teaching
• Experience in promoting the arts across the school community
