As the Head of Art and Textiles, you will lead a dynamic department and play a key role in shaping the future of art and textiles education. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Art and Textiles department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a vision for the future of art and textiles education.
- Deliver outstanding teaching in GCSE Art and Textiles, with the ability to teach GCSE Photography as a desirable skill.
- Support the curriculum leader for technology and collaborate on cross-curricular initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential.
- Promote a culture of innovation and excellence within the department.
- Contribute to the school’s mission and values, including a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student achievement and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a subject leader in Art and Textiles at GCSE level.
- Outstanding classroom teaching experience with a commitment to student growth and achievement.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
- A clear vision for the development of art and textiles education.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching GCSE Photography.
- A background in a Church of England or faith-based educational setting.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations and promoting inclusivity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
