As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and wellbeing, helping them reach their full potential in a safe and caring environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning and general wellbeing, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Provide meaningful feedback on student attainment and progress to teachers.
- Monitor, assess, and record student progress in line with the school’s policies.
- Support positive behaviour management and adapt responses to changes in student behaviour.
- Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development through the PSHE curriculum.
- Encourage cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development through the whole curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs in an employed or voluntary setting.
- Ability to undertake Team Teach certification within the probation period.
- Full UK driving licence or willingness to learn, as transportation of students is required.
- Commitment to the role and a desire to put the child first.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- GCSE in Maths and English at Level 2/C or above.
Preferred
- Willingness to work towards L3 Teaching Assistant award or equivalent.
- Knowledge or experience of working with students with SEMH or ASD.
- Creativity and positivity in meeting students’ needs.
