The Opportunity:

As a SEN Primary Teacher, you will deliver high-quality education to students with a range of needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Supervise support staff and ensure the welfare, progress, and outcomes of assigned pupils.
  • Implement school policies and practice, including safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
  • Provide leadership in a designated subject or curriculum area, including monitoring quality and standards.
  • Contribute to school planning, self-evaluation, and professional development initiatives.
  • Support the Head of Education with resource planning and curriculum development.
  • Ensure the delivery of a differentiated curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification with evidence of in-service training.
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience with completion of ECT.
  • Experience in primary teaching.
  • Experience of teaching pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with autism.
  • Experience of delivering a differentiated curriculum to a wide range of needs.
  • Experience of delivering a Semi-formal/Formal Curriculum.
  • Experience in subject leadership in Creative Arts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of THRIVE.
