The Opportunity:

The Head of Art will play a key role in delivering a high-quality Art curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate educator to lead and inspire students in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Art lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the school’s ambition and values.
  • Support and mentor other Art teachers to ensure consistent quality and excellence.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and student engagement.
  • Participate in the school’s enrichment programme, contributing to student development beyond the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Art education at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Proven ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in leading a department.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality, inclusive education for all students.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in delivering Ofsted Outstanding-rated teaching and learning.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support initiatives.
