The Opportunity:

As the Head of Arts and Design Technology, you will lead and inspire a team of educators to deliver high-quality arts and design education. This role is pivotal in shaping the creative and technical skills of students, preparing them for future success in a rapidly evolving world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the arts and design curriculum across all key stages.
• Supervise and support a team of arts and design teachers to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align arts and design initiatives with the school’s strategic goals.
• Promote extracurricular activities and events that enhance student engagement and creativity.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and professional development for staff.
• Ensure the integration of technology and innovative teaching methods into arts and design lessons.
• Represent the school at relevant conferences, events, and partnerships.
• Maintain strong communication with parents and the wider community to promote the value of arts and design education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A recognised educational degree, such as a Bachelor's in Education or an equivalent qualification.
• A certified teaching qualification such as a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum four years of teaching experience, with a strong focus on arts and design.
• Exceptional subject knowledge in arts and design, with experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
• Experience teaching IGCSE, AS/A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) qualifications.
• A proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning in a school setting.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Leadership Qualifications: Advanced leadership training or qualifications such as NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership) or equivalent.
• Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school environment.
• Experience in managing and developing a department or team of teachers.
