The Opportunity:
As the Head of Building Services, you will lead and develop a department that delivers high-quality education and services to learners and the wider community. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the department to ensure it meets the needs of learners and the community.
- Oversee the delivery of vocational provision with a focus on improving learner outcomes and teaching quality.
- Lead and support staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the department aligns with the institution’s strategic goals.
- Implement policies and procedures that promote inclusivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to drive improvements and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local employers and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Level 5 teaching qualification with a degree or vocational qualification in a relevant subject.
- Proven experience in managing vocational provision, preferably in a Further Education setting.
- Demonstrable track record of improving learner success and teaching quality.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department within a Further Education college.
- Knowledge of industry-standard facilities and best practices in education.
- Experience with equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Familiarity with Safer Recruitment principles and KCSIE guidelines.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £57,427 - £62,571.
