The Opportunity:

As the Head of Building Services, you will lead and develop a department that delivers high-quality education and services to learners and the wider community. This is a key role in shaping the future of an institution that is dedicated to driving learner success and innovation in further education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the department to ensure it meets the needs of learners and the community.
  • Oversee the delivery of vocational provision with a focus on improving learner outcomes and teaching quality.
  • Lead and support staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the department aligns with the institution’s strategic goals.
  • Implement policies and procedures that promote inclusivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to drive improvements and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local employers and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 5 teaching qualification with a degree or vocational qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Proven experience in managing vocational provision, preferably in a Further Education setting.
  • Demonstrable track record of improving learner success and teaching quality.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department within a Further Education college.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard facilities and best practices in education.
  • Experience with equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Safer Recruitment principles and KCSIE guidelines.
