The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business and Economics, you will lead a department committed to delivering an outstanding academic programme aligned with the KHDA and BSO framework. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who can drive innovation, embed real-world relevance, and foster a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Business and Economics curriculum that aligns with global and local contexts, including Dubai’s economic landscape and UAE’s national vision.
  • Monitor and enhance teaching quality through lesson observations, learning walks, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Mentor and coach department staff, supporting continuous professional development and performance improvement.
  • Lead departmental training and ensure alignment with whole-school improvement plans and inspection frameworks.
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Department to ensure a coherent and progressive curriculum across all key stages.
  • Oversee the planning and administration of examinations and NEA requirements, ensuring alignment with exam board specifications.
  • Analyse student progress data to inform targeted interventions and drive outstanding learning outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and external stakeholders, promoting student engagement and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics or a related subject, along with a recognised teaching qualification or license.
  • Minimum of four years’ teaching experience, with previous middle leadership or Head of Department experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE, A-Level, and BTEC.
  • Strong data analysis skills to inform departmental strategies and planning.
  • Experience working with inspection/accreditation bodies such as KHDA and BSO.
