The Opportunity:

As a Psychology Teacher, you will inspire students through dynamic, inquiry-based learning that blends theory with real-world applications. You will play a key role in shaping curious, confident learners who think critically and achieve outstanding results in GCSE and A-Level Psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Psychology across Key Stages, specialising in GCSE and A-Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and support all learners through real-world case studies and inquiry-based learning.
  • Develop and maintain schemes of work aligned with departmental and whole-school priorities.
  • Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments and implement targeted interventions.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and respect.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to shared planning and resource development.
  • Stay current with curriculum developments and best practice in Psychology education through international networks and professional bodies.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for internal and external assessments, including GCSE and A-Level Psychology examinations.
  • Implement NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) requirements in accordance with exam board specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (or a closely related field) and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDE, QTS).
  • Minimum of two years teaching Psychology, ideally within an international or British curriculum school.
  • Strong subject knowledge across core areas of Psychology with the ability to deliver theoretical and research-based content effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula (e.g. IGCSE, GCSE, A-Level).
  • Familiarity with inspection and accreditation bodies such as Ofsted, KHDA, and BSO.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
