The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, shaping the strategic direction of the department and ensuring the delivery of an outstanding curriculum. This role is central to the school’s mission of empowering students to reach their full potential through a culture of high expectations and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business department to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a vision for the department that aligns with the school’s values and educational goals.
  • Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to deliver a cohesive and impactful curriculum.
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote the department and its achievements.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal development of all students.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of assessments and exams to ensure consistency and fairness.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of the Business curriculum.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in driving improvement and leading teams towards shared goals.
  • Commitment to the values of integrity, curiosity, and leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in a sixth form or specialist A-level centre.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in supporting staff professional development.
  • Background in inclusive education and working with diverse student populations.
