Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Health and Social Care that inspire and challenge students.
  • Support the development of students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding of health and social care principles.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and reduce workload.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and incorporate best practices into teaching.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous professional growth.
  • Support students in preparing for further education, apprenticeships, or careers in health and social care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience teaching at the sixth form level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the values of integrity, curiosity, and leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take responsibility for student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and supporting diverse learners.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and digital tools.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student support.
  • Previous experience in a school trust or multi-academy trust environment.
  • Knowledge of health and social care qualifications such as BTEC or A-levels.
