The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teacher, you will deliver a dynamic and inclusive curriculum tailored to meet diverse learning needs and EHCP targets. You will play a vital role in helping students with special needs achieve academic success and prepare for their future. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad and engaging curriculum adapted to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Teach across Key Stages 3–5 and contribute to accredited pathways, including Entry Level qualifications and GCSE courses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support students’ learning and development.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans in line with EHCP targets.
  • Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support students in developing independence, social skills, and life readiness.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and preparing students for meaningful next steps.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a small school environment.

Preferred

  • Subject specialism in Art and Humanities.
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices and crisis prevention training (CPI).
  • Experience working in primary, secondary, or special school settings.
  • Experience with students with a range of special needs, including Autism, SCLN, and sensory impairments.
