Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver innovative and engaging Business Studies curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to share best practices and support whole-school improvement.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential and pursue higher education and career opportunities.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to contribute to the strategic development of the school.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing training of staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Business Studies.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
  • Strong subject knowledge and experience in teaching Business Studies at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience of working in a high-achieving school or college.
  • Experience with sixth-form teaching and/or A-level Business Studies.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching of staff.
